Working With YOU, and For YOU, to Build a Stronger Workforce

  • The WIOA Youth program serves urban and rural youth from culturally diverse populations ages 14-24. Working together, Lane Workforce Partnership and South Lane School District, offer these services to our local youth.

    The goal of the program is to promote academic and occupational skill development and prepare youth for postsecondary training and/or employment. The program focuses on the following areas;

    • High school completion
    • Literacy improvement
    • Financial literacy
    • Postsecondary training
    • Work readiness development

    Funded through the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act, legislation requires all youth must have at least one of the following barriers in order to receive services:

    • Basic skills deficiency (at or below 8th grade level in reading, writing, or math)
    • School dropout
    • Pregnant or parenting
    • Homeless or runaway
    • In foster care
    • Juvenile offender
    • Requires additional assistance to complete an educational program or secure and hold employment (includes youth with disability)
